I am full time home tutor for 7 years. I have graduated from IIUM for my Bachelor in Manufacturing Engineering and c Masters in Engineering Management from UPM. I emphasis more on foundations of syllabus and exercises. I always try to correlate the principle of syllabus with nature, in order to gain attentions and excitation from the students.

Tutoring Approach

My teaching lessons will be referred solely to the current syllabus by the Ministry of Education. I prefer to have two-way communications with the student, in order to get them involved in the lesson especially with the latest Kemahiran Berfikir Aras Tinggi for KBAT format. I believe in the theory of home tutor should be more like a peer to the student rather than be like a conventional teacher. Both are needed, though. Every student have their own strengths and weaknesses, thus techniques to be used will be based from their preferences. Images, graphics, colourful and interesting short notes are few to be named.

I gained my 7 A's for my PMR result and, 5 A's for my SPM. Now, I am in my Degree level of studies, my current GPA is 3.235. I do thing in a fun way yet I take things seriously,. I always determine on whatever I do. I will not take things easily. If I were assigned to teach about something, I will teach until that person until she/he actually understands it. Next, I have specialty on adapting to the surroundings. Therefore, I am always ready to be dealing with any kind of person/ student.

First of all, I would try to learn the person/student on what style should be used to teach she/he. Either it is through facts, or visual. And, I will ask them if they have any preferable style of teaching. So basically, I am flexible. I will be teaching using mind maps. It is because, mind maps work for our brain. It connects the information of one thing to another, and work like neurons in our brain that are connected to each other. And, I like learning or teaching while writing. That way, nothing will be left behind or forgotten. I will emphasized the student to do exercises. Because, I believe practice make perfect! I am sure that the student will understand in a short period and can excel for their examinations.

In the first class, I’ll analyze student’s performance through past year exam papers and a bit of exercises. Then, depends on the students, I’ll find books that suit with student’s needs. I’ll at least try to finish the syllabus 2 months before the date of final exam so I’ll use the rest of 2 months to recap and drill on necessary topics.
