I started tutoring in 2014, just replacing my friends then doing this part-time on my own. I've experienced tutoring primary kids in Science, English and secondary kids in Science subjects such as Biology and Chemistry. I really enjoyed History, although never actually thought this subject professionally. Sometimes I do teach them 'mengaji' too. I do have experience teaching tuitions and kids at public school as the substitute teacher.

Tutoring Approach

I think I need to know the kids I'm going to teach first; their milestones, their strength, their weaknesses, their preferences, before I decide which style suit them. The first meeting is getting to know your student. Then I'll discuss and decide which style suitable for this particular student. Then we'll make our own plan; topics we need to cover and progress plan. Every meeting starts with the topic planned before, Q&A, some practice and other difficulties by the student.

My lesson will be based on the school syllabus so that I can make sure that the students learn every single topic. From there, I can identify the student's weakness in which subject and topic they facing the difficulties is. Hence, I can stress more exercise on that topic. Since nowadays school implement a lot of KBAT questions, I will emphasis more on the KBAT question to sharpen the students' ability to solve those kind of question. My techniques will be differ based on the level of students' themselves. Either in a face pace or slow pace will be depends on the students' ability first. I will make sure that the parents will see their children progress as learning in one-to-one required the educator to focus only on the particular student.
