I conduct assessments and testing for dyslexia, dyspraxia and other learning difficulties. I have 21 years of teaching experience and working with learners aged 5 onwards. I have coached and worked with students who require grammar skills, vocabulary building, spoken language ability and general penmanship skills. I have worked with learners following the iGCSE, Australian NESA, International Baccalaureate and Canadian PreU programmes.

I have a BSc in Psychology and Language Sciences from UCL and an MSc in Health Psychology from King's College London. I have taught students of various ages, from primary school level to adults. As a teaching assistant in an AS psychology class, I had the opportunity to use creative and interactive learning methods to reinforce learning, such as spider diagrams and games. I also have used similar methods when teaching English in Colombia, where I used pictures to overcome the language barrier.

I have just completed my A-Levels from Sunway College (Chemistry, Mathematics and Psychology) and am looking to further my work experience in tutoring and teaching. In high school, I did O-Levels or iGCSE and scored a total of 9A*s and 2A's in all of my eleven subjects. I have had previous experience in teaching my peers in both college and high school for Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Psychology and Chemistry for a total of 1 year. My working hours are completely flexible and I am happy to do both online and home tutoring! Since I am relatively new and am only seeking work experience, I do not mind charging much lower prices compared to the norm per hour. I would love to discuss more with you via Whatsapp! 

Tutoring Approach

I have had work experience with peers my own age and kids around the ages of 6-9 in tutoring and babysitting so I am well versed with their behaviour. Not only am I patient, I also have an enthusiasm to teach children and guide them both academically and emotionally. My tutoring approach is relatively simple where firstly, I will begin with introducing the topics/concepts that are to be learnt. I will give them a basic rundown description of what is to be expected. I will then move on to giving examples, merging along with exercises for the student to complete. This ensures a solid foundation of the topic itself. Once steady and familiar, I will be providing topical tests which can sometimes be on only one topic or several, depending on the student's progress. As a tutor, my responsibility is to be both disciplined and entertaining and I will make sure both sides are balanced in order to provide an engaging yet beneficial lesson! Parents, please feel free to tell me the type of behaviour you would like me to demonstrate if you have any specifics! I'm more than happy to adapt to both you andf your child's needs.
