OFFER What is an offer ? An expression of willingness (intention) to enter into a contract on certain terms. Key point of an "offer"? Offers must be firm, and not ambiguous. Who is an Offerer? A person who is making the offer.

Gibson v Manchester City Council (1979) House of Lord (HL): stated that the words "may be prepared to sell" did not amount to a contractual offer". . Lord Denning: "look at the correspondence as a whole and at the conduct of the parties and from there whether the parties have come to an agreement on everything that was material". Storer v Manchester City Council (1 974): the words "we are willing to sell" construed to be an offer.
