I have experience in tutoring with children ages 7 to 12 as I have tutored as a senior in high school as well as a student in university. Before I teach, I need to understand the level of the student. Therefore some pre-assessment either in the form of verbal, quizzes or essay regarding a topic will be carried out before assessing the student. The selection of books used will also be discussed and agreed upon both parties (teacher and student/student's parents). When I teach, not only do I focus on the student's academic result but I also emphasize on their character development because that is what it takes for them to go far in the future. Parents or guardians will be updated on the students progress on a weekly/monthly basis, depending on their request. I also believe that students will learn better in a small group through interaction with their peers therefore a group of 3 to 4 is most ideal for students to learn and grow.
