I used to teach mathematics for secondary level. Aced an A for every English subject since primary until university level. I am very passionate at teaching English and also very casual as long as the student does not lose focus.

Tutoring Approach

My approach varies depending on the student’s needs and learning style. I would start from topics the students are comfortable with and move gradually towards more complex areas as their confidence builds. I also use questions and examples to check understanding continually. I prefer to focus on exam-style or past paper questions in order to check, practice and perfect the student’s understanding and technique. However, studying for the sake of attaining an A in examinations is saddening; It is the knowledge gained that matters.

Tutoring Approach

• Check the student's school work for the past one week and have a brief discussion (5 - 10 mins)
• Start the lesson with explanations and 2 or 3 examples. Then the student is guided try for himself or herself. (20 - 25 mins).
• Student is to answer 2 or 3 questions of the same type on his/her own. (20 - 25 mins).
• If time allows, then Past Years Questions are given.

I believe in creating a good relationship with my students. I enjoy learning from them so that I can teach them according to their style. This creates an open atmosphere. The students have fun and enjoy learning English. My classes are always more student focused. I prefer this approach because the students are eager to learn and it encourages them. This also enables me to plan my lesson more effectively.
