Sharmila Chandran: Your Dedicated Tutoring Resource

My name is Sharmila.  I completed Bachelor of Accounting in Unitar International University. Currently, I am working as an Accounts Executive. I am looking for home tuition nearby my living area.  I am interested in teaching. I have teaching experience more than 6 years. My first experience was at Taska Seri Rebung as a class teacher for the year 3-6.I worked there for almost 1 year. I taught Mathematics, English and also Moral. There were 15-28 students in a class. My next experience was as a tutor in a tuition centre more than 1 year. I taught Mathematics and Tamil to standard 1 -6 students and also form 5 students. There were 5-15 students in a class. Apart from that, I worked in Taska Oak Tree to gain teaching experience. I worked as a part-time Daycare Teacher and also part-time admin. I taught them mathematics and Arts & Graft. Lastly, I worked in math monkey more than 1 year as a math tutor. In a class, there were 4-10 students. I taught mathematics to them using math monkey concept. I can also teach Accounts (Secondary & Diploma)  and Mathematics(Primary - Secondary) to Government and International school as well.

My aim as a tutor is to create in my students a deep understanding and confidence in answering exam questions and  being able to tackle new and unfamiliar problems.   My philosophy is based on the idea that learning happens in an environment of mutual respect in which the student is encouraged to think and make new connections for themselves.  My experience has been that one-to-one personal tuition has a unique value to students because of the ability to resolve the students’ personal barriers to learning in a way that lays the foundations for a deep and lasting understanding of the subject.
