Experience | Experience: I tutored a 3rd year pharmacy student previously during University time on Chemistry (I know that was long ago, lol). But it made me realised that I enjoyed tutoring. Eventhough you might find that I lack experience in tutoring, I have my own learning approach. As a JPA scholar (not trying to show off), I hope to make my student a top too. Experience improves a teacher's approach to tutoring but it doesnt dictate whether a person is a good teacher. |

Approach | Approach: I believe the right approach to tutoring is through teaching the students to understand the mechanism of how things work rather than pure memorising. Because with proper understanding, it enables students to easily solve problem accurately. For certain facts which needs memorising (unfortunately, such as history) I will develop an approach to help them in this field. People used to say pharmacist/doctor need a brain capacity as big as computer to store all the information. But if that is true, god will need to create super human. In fact, most of the information can actually be made into logical facts through understanding, which can easily be retrieved from the brain. Hence, reduced the need for memorisation. That will be my ultimate goal in tutoring, i.e teaching students to understand rather than memorising. |
