I have provided tuitions to my juniors during my College days. My main teaching subjects are English and Mathematics and Statistics. I have recently did my IELTS with a score of 8.0

I am very hardworking and passionate about teaching and continuously seek ways to improve my teaching techniques. 

Tutoring Approach

In primary school, I wasn't the best student in class. I was embarassed to ask many question in class and also distracted by my other classmates. I didn't know what an exam is, and I failed terribly in my first semester of school. My parents were very worried about my performance and thus, spoke to a teacher in school. He suggested to send to after school classes to pick up on my studies. Mr Yee was a very patient man, and he taught me according to my pace and there were only 5 students in his class. I wasn't shy to ask "stupid question". That's how I started to gain interest on the subjects I learnt in school. Slowly, I took more after school tuition, and improved from there and became one of the top tiers student in my class.

I have done well in my UPSR, PMR and SPM. I learn how to best manage my time and materials based on its difficulties. And I hope to share this tecniques with my students.

I have gained alot of interest in understanding children learning process and thus took up a degree in psychology. I have particular interest in helping children to understand their study materials better. Now I am a working adult and I would like to spare some of my free time in helping other children in their studies. Some of the approach I would use in tutor would be 

Scaffolding - Guide techniques for student to discover their own understanding

Mnemonics - Memorizing techniques on difficult subject

Story-telling -Approach to make dull subject more interesting/appealing to students

I started to teach English in tertiary level since 2008 until present. I have vast experience in teaching adults. My tutoring services are:

(b) Writing Class- All types of writing epecially for working adults

Lesson planning: Latest reference books Lessons: Covering every topic and subtopic (depending on the student's ability to grasp information) I can relate to the students as I am still in my 20's and am friendly. I prefer lessons being undertaken in a two-way system. I use exercise books, notes, mnemonics, flash cards, point system, short tests after a completion of a topic. Revision exercises before exams.

Experience

I have been teaching in an International school for about 2 years now. My subject taught would be English as a Second Language although my major is in the broad study of literature ranging from occidentalism in the postcolonial theory to critical theories transcending matters all across cultures. I have dealt with canonical text as well as subjects like gothic studies. I wish to impart the knowledge that I have acquired thus far in the related field to candidates that are interested.

Tutoring Approach

My tutoring approach consists of multi-sensory learning which mainly comprises of visual and auditory comprehension techniques. At times, I would employ the kinesthetic technique in order for the student to grasp what is being taught in class. It involves gathering opinions and preferences from the students take on a certain situation, idea or topic at hand.
